1. GENERAL USES:

For leveling and repairing deteriorated concrete. Thin Patch may be used above or below grade and on horizontal or vertical surfaces. From 1/8" to 1/4".

2. FEATURES:

One component.
Superior adhesion.
Similar modes of elasticity to concrete.
Extremely low shrinkage.
Vapor permeable.
Resistant to freeze/thaw cycling.
Easy to apply and finish.

May be feather edged.

3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

A. Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, dust, paint, sealers, coatings, loose material, adhesives, curing compounds or any material that will inhibit patching material from coming in contact with the concrete pores. Tight, steel troweled concrete should be abraded or etched with sulfamic or muriatic acid solution, then neutralized to open up the concrete pores. Removal of any anti adherents or loose materials must be accomplished mechanically with a wire brush, chipping hammer, or by sand or water blasting. Solvents or strippers are not acceptable.

B. Mixing: For normal applications, add 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 pints of water per 60 pound bag of Thin Patch, depending upon the desired consistency. Mixing can be achieved either manually or mechanically. Mechanical mixing is preferred for quantities greater than 1 bag. Mixing should continue until a uniform, lump-free consistency is obtained. Avoid over mixing which could lead to over aeration of the mix. Do NOT add more water than specified nor add additional powder from other units.

C. Application: Dampen the surface thoroughly with clean water. Avoid standing water. Then prime it with a slurry of Thin Patch using a stiff brush. The recommended slurry consists of 10 pints of water per 60 pounds of Thin Patch. Protect from rain until initial set has been achieved.

D. Curing: The formulation of Thin Patch minimizes the need for curing. However, application in direct sunlight or windy conditions may lead to rapid surface drying. The use of light water fogging for 48 hours or a water based compound that complies with ASTM C-309 is recommended. Do not commence fogging until initial set has been reached; typically 1-2 hours depending upon ambient conditions. If a water based curing compound is used, this must be removed or allowed to degrade prior to overcoating.

E. Limitations: Ambient and surface temperatures must be 38°F or above during application.

Minimum thickness: 1/8 inch.

Maximum thickness: 3/8 inch.

F. Clean Up: Remove uncured Thin Patch from tools and equipment with water. Cured material may only be removed mechanically.

4. PACKAGING:

60 pound bag.

5. STORAGE AND HANDLING:

A. Shelf Life: 12 months in the original unopened container.
